MBC proudly supports many of Ottawa’s charitable, legal, and professional organizations.
MBC proudly supports several charities with donations and fundraising. Some charities that we have supported in the past and continue to support are the Ottawa Food Bank, CIBC Run fore the Cure, the Ottawa Humane Society, CN Cycle for CHEO, and the Navy Bike Ride.
In addition to supporting charitable and community organizations, MBC is also a proud member of the Ontario legal community.
We are active in the Ontario Bar Association, the County of Carleton Law Association and the Association of French Speaking Jurists of Ontario.
Some of our lawyers volunteer their time assisting self-represented litigants through the Law Help Ontario program, run through Pro Bono Law Ontario. Started in June 2010, this program offers free summary legal advice to self-represented litigants at the Ottawa Courthouse.
Our lawyers and law clerks stay well informed of the latest developments in the law by regularly attending legal education conferences and programs sponsored by the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the County of Carleton Law Association, the Ottawa Construction Association and other organizations.
Several of our lawyers have lectured at the Law Society of Upper Canada Bar Association Course, and present at legal education conferences at programs sponsored by various organizations. By participating in such programs, our lawyers stay abreast of recent developments in the law and advance their knowledge, as well as that of their peers.
Ian McBride was the President of the County of Carleton Law Association for the 2013-2014 year, and has been actively involved in the CCLA for many years. Andrew Ferguson is currently a CCLA Trustee.
